Questions,
answered.
What is Buttercup?
A small Mac app that fixes and rewrites text wherever you type. Select what you wrote, bring up the wheel, and pick an action. Your text is replaced in place.
How do I open the wheel?
Select some text, then click and hold Control. The wheel blooms under your cursor. Release on an action to run it.
Which apps does it work in?
Slack, Notion, Google Workspace, Gmail, any browser and any other text box. If you can select the text, Buttercup can work on it.
What can it do to my text?
Polish, shorten, change the tone, explain, summarize, pull out tasks, draft a reply, translate, or type your own instruction.
Which languages can it translate to?
Translate works with 46 languages.
Do I have to copy and paste anything?
No. Buttercup works on the text you selected and replaces it right where it is, so you never leave the app you are writing in.
